Ammerlaan-Sosef Nursery has given WPS the order for installing an automated packaging line

Nursery Ammerlaan-Sosef has asked WPS to install an automatic packing line.

Smart Placing robot arm

The automated packaging line consist of a sleeving machine, a Smart Placing robot arm which places the plants automatically in an array of trays. Other components are: an automated tray de-stacker, called Smart Destacker, which can de-stack a variety of tray sizes, and a shipping buffer for plants.
By installing this new automation phase, Ammerlaan-Sosef will be able to process plants more efficiently and with a clear overview. This new phase connect seamlessly with their other WPS systems, such as SmartFlo and the recently expanded sorting buffer.

Pleasant cooperation

Maarten van der Gaarden (center) is looking forward to commissioning the project. Gert-Jan Sosef (left) and Jeffrey Ammerlaan (right) are proud to complete their automatization with WPS. WPS and Ammerlaan-Sosef have worked together for a number of years and enjoyed a pleasant collaboration during the various projects. With this new project Ammerlaan -Sosef can further automate their nursery.

Ammerlaan – Sosef was founded in 1999 after Ard Ammerlaan together with his son Jeffrey and partner Gert-Jan Sosef started a collaboration. Ard’s initial crops, which he propagated for years, pot chrysanthemum and Celosia Caracas have been expanded since 1999 with more year round crops, like Primula Touch Me/Sweet Kisses, Cyclamen, Celosia Deep Purple and a variety of other Celosia’s. Among which the new variety Javalin and Vintage.
Ammerlaan-Sosef is winner of the Dutch Flower Award 2018.
