Our WPS team has formulated nice challenging resolutions for 2022. But we also have put the challenges in front of the individuals of our expert panel.
Which resolution gives you new energy for 2022
Bart van Meurs, innovation specialist
Not surprisingly my professional resolutions have everything to do around innovation. As a Technology- optimist I’m convinced there is only one direction to go, which is forward.
My ambition for 2022 is to significantly contribute to a more sustainable horticulture industry with “smart” technology.
You can think of: energy solutions which reduce emissions to 0 and smart technology to reduce dependency on laborers, while making it possible to use available employees smarter and more efferently. This is what entrepreneurship is all about, which drives me. Let’s get started!
Jelle Strijbis, plant grower in De Lier
“I don’t do too many resolutions. In our company we are working every day to make beautiful things. This doesn’t stop on December 31st and doesn’t start on January 1st. We are working on many aspects within our company: keeping employees engaged, teaching and educating, implementing robotics and automation.
In January we will commission two of our recent projects. At one of our facilities “The automated plant placer in the greenhouse bays in combination with WPS SmartFlo. At the other location we had WPS install a picking and sorting system"
"Recent rise in raw material cost and their derived products (pots, growing media, energy, packing materials) have presented new challenges for this coming year. We have to make even better choices as to which projects we need to invest in and which we put on the shelf for the moment. This makes it fun and a daily challenging at the same time, to do this with our staff of 130 individuals."
