OK Plant has chosen to renew their current sorting and delivery buffer. WPS is proud to carry out this assignment for OK Plant.
The aim of the system is to further increase flexibility and to improve the quality of work for the employees of OK Plant, meeting the highest standard.
Design criteria
An important design criterion is that the handling of the plant causes minimal stress to the plants. Every contact moment during transport must be easy to control.
Ergonomics played an important role. The task that WPS was given was to ensure that the employees were able to work with the system as pleasantly as possible. Bas Kleiweg and Marcel Olsthoorn said at the start of the project that everyone at OK Plant was involved in the design of the system.
In the end, this was the basis on which WPS was able to go to work.
How the system works
The plants are collected in batches, placed in a tray and transported via a roller conveyor to the pre-buffer.
Before the tray goes into the pre-buffer, the Plant Spray Unit (PSU) supplies each tray with water.
The pre-buffer consists of roller conveyors. During order picking, the trays for the order in question are collected on the output roller conveyor and transported to the delivery buffer.
In the delivery buffer with belt conveyors, the orders to be delivered are picked and the delivery buffer is filled on the basis of the orders that are composed of the pre-buffer.
From the delivery buffer, the orders are prepared for transport.
Ready for the future
The system has been designed in such a way that further automation is easy. In this way OK Plant can further develop the system in the future and integrate it with other processes.
