Forever Plants has been a customer of WPS for over 12 years and has chosen to completely renew the sorting and delivery process. The reason for this is that the current sorting and delivery process no longer meets the requirements. The wide range of Forever Plants, in combination with the high delivery frequency, places new demands on the system. With the new system, work processes can be organised more efficiently and a much better overview of the processes is created.
Over the past few months we have worked intensively together on a business case. The expected savings have been worked out in detail and this has determined the scope for investment. Flexibility towards the future was also considered, for example a changing assortment or increasing sales via the Plantsome webshop. Together they came to a few technical designs and the various options were carefully considered.
The new WPS sorting and delivery system consists of several supply and discharge routes with conveyor belts, an measurement system with height meter and cameras, a delivery buffer and new packing stations. In addition, the WPS order software will be implemented, which, among other things, will ensure that the right plants will automatically reach the packing stations.
Better overview and more cultivation space
With the new system, Forever Plants will have a better overview of the number of plants to be delivered. The system offers more flexibility in delivery and moreover processes in the greenhouse are rearranged so that more space is available for cultivation.
Positive reactions
Thom Persoon, director of Forever Plants on the collaboration: "We have chosen again for WPS because in our view they are the only ones who can offer a total solution to our complex problem. The system must offer major organisational advantages through overview and efficiency. We look forward to working with WPS on this project in the coming months."
Maarten van der Gaarden, Commercial Manager at WPS: "We are proud that we can work with Forever Plants again. It is very nice to work intensively with a client to design a system, to think about the business case and to give advice about the design."
